CDAT SIEGE might sound reckless or intimidating, but SIEGE is the Southeastern Interactive Entertainment and Gaming Exposition, sponsored by the Georgia Game Developers Association (http://ggda.org/). Normally $45 for the day, SIEGE donated admission to 1,000 students, 100+ of whom were CDAT students. Our kids had the chance to hear from Alfred Thompson of Microsoft, EA CCO , as well as students and teachers from Southern Polytech who study game programming and design. It's a massive industry in Georgia, and has overlaps with gaming, entertainment, simulation and more. All in all, it was a great first field trip of the year, and the first field trip in a long time for many of our students and teachers! So, please take a subtle hint corporate America: please pay for some field trips! |
